“We are honored and flattered that of the hundreds of different golf bag models in the market, two Sun Mountain bags have been singled out as the best,” said Sun Mountain Founder, Rick Reimers. “Our company’s heritage is in designing and building a better golf bag and it’s incredibly gratifying for our dedication and work to be recognized and awarded.”
Golf Digest said, “Advances in lightweight materials, strap systems and stand mechanisms …have raised the intrinsic value of (golf) bags. If designers make it easier to get to a pocket or lessen the load on your shoulders, back or legs, you’re likely to play better.”
The Editors’ Choice awards for best golf bags had seven divisions: Classic, Cart, Carry, Lightweight, Hybrid, Specialty and Sunday with Sun Mountain picking up the awards for Best Golf Cart Bag and Best Lightweight Golf Bag.
Sun Mountain C-130 was named best golf cart bag. About the C-130 the article said, “Sun Mountain’s C-130 cart bag has three handles to make getting the bag on and off a cart a breeze, and the reverse-orientation top makes accessing clubs easy. All pockets are forward-facing, and the cart strap pass-through allows the bag to be secured to the cart without the strap covering any pockets.”
Sun Mountain 2Five was named Best Lightweight Golf Bag. For the 2Five the magazine wrote, “The Sun Mountain 2Five is, as its name suggests, just 2½ pounds, although the bag remains highly functional, making it our top choice in the Lightweight/Ultra-lightweight division.”
